disappointed

Trying to sleep after failing to get into the D&D championship is hard. We still have the Goodman dungeon crawl classics tournament finals tomorrow. Hoping for a mitigating good shoeing there.

Special Sauce

What makes one group kick more monster ass than others? What helps our team ("Don't Make This Weird") consistently perform well in challenging adventures like the ultimate dungeon delve and the championship? (work in progress)

1. Teamwork. More than any other RPG I have played, 4e has been designed to reward teamwork and synergies between characters. If you want to step up your game, look for ways to help the other party members. Leader types have it easy, they get powers that help the other party members, but everyone should be working to help each other.

another big big day

Stories later..... There just isn't enough time to do it right now.

We have two semifinal to play tomorrow, and we are minor celebrities for beating the ultimate delve.

We are, appaently, kinda awesome at D&D.

Later: I don't know where to start -- it was a crazy up and down day, very emotionally exhausting.

We were lucky -- we managed to get into a second round of the ultimate delve, which is the very difficult event we had to walk away from before the end to go to the Goodman DCC tournament.

don't let your husband .....

Take the credit card to GenCon.

Kirk picked up a set of superman wristbands to keep the sweat from interfering with his grip on his dice.

And I know he got it for the dice, because he got a third one. You can make up your own use for that one.

why?

Why, in the name if all that is good and pure in the heavens, do I get more work phone calls on one vacation day than I do sitting at my desk for a month?

Sagamore Ballroom, RPGA's Home at GenConStealing time for a quck update. Having a great day. Knocked the first round of the goodman tournament out of the park. Now we are half way through a double length LFR adventure.

Thursday morning

Sagamore Ballroom, RPGA's home at GenConWe got here early, people are starting to flow in and get ready to play. I'm totally twitchy with anticipation. On the inside. On the outside.... Well... I need more coffee.

Short delve first.

the eve..... must sleep soon

So, my picture updates have been telling moat of the nuts and bolts of the story. We drove through the night, sorted out or lodging and registration confusions, and we are ready. Tomorrow it starts.

Actually, tomorrow is a big day, with three sessions planned. We start at the delve -- a challenging six-encounter adventure designed to crush the merely adequate. For us, though, there is a bugger challenge.

That session is scheduled to run from 8-12. But we have the first round of the goodman games tournament at noon, in another building two or mire blocks away.

killing time, trying not to sleep [Funny People]

Actually really good. Sandler can be
very good in dramatic roles.

a real meal

image1638703076.jpgFinally, a real meal. We have our tickets, our route for tomorrow's quick switch mapped out, and we are having a good late lunch at a brewery here that goes to a lot of effort to appeal to gamers. I'm gonna have to buy a shirt just because they are pandering to me.

After: well, some disappointments with the food. Steaks sent back twice, etc.
